These are a section of comments made by children directly
affected by the storm. As part of the support process, a number of
children were invited to share their thoughts and feelings with words
or pictures. They are reproduced here with permission.
I feel sad and I cry and cry because I’m
never going to see my friend at school.

I felt as though a knife stabbed my heart
when my best friend died and I cried so much.

My dear friend,
I remember when you and I were together and we studied together.
It was fun when you and I played together after class.
I wish we had been together forever, until we were old and had
a peaceful death.
Now I feel sad, hopeless and heartbroken because I don’t
have my friend, I’m alone.
I hope that you enjoy the blessing of God in another life in heavenly
glory.
