The Maya Childcare Trust - Daily activities at the childcare centre.

TheCentro Infantil Bellota in the centre of Xela offers day-care to children of working mothers with very low income, and provides:

Good basic nutrition by means of a balanced breakfast, main meal and snacks each day
A safe and caring atmosphere that nurtures trusting relationships with adults and with other children
A stimulating environment that inspires and supports active learning

Child-care volunteers need to have intermediate level Spanish or above. If volunteers are beginners in Spanish or they have only few hours a day (Mon – Fri), they can support us in different areas of the Centre doing work for children (for instance: administrative tasks, preparing resources for kids, filing the preschool Child Observation Record, developing our web site, playing with kids while their mothers come to collect them at the Centre)
